3 Angels Children & Family Services, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer who periodically recruits to fill the positions of Social Workers and Support Counselors. These individuals are skilled, trained and supported to implement the program of supporting placement stability.  Both Social Worker's and Support Counselor’s play a very important role in the treatment process for children and youth experiencing emotional or mental difficulties.  We are recruiting individuals who are strengths-based and willing to provide Resource Parents with the support to maintain the placement of children in their home.

Social Worker Position

Basic Information
Full-time / Part-time position serving Napa, Contra Costa, Solano, Sonoma, Marin, Alemeda, Sutter, Lake and Mendocino Counties.


Starting Hourly Rate
DOE 
(Training rate will apply for first 60 - 90 days of employment)

Requirements
  • A Master’s Degree from an accredited or state approved graduate school, in social work or social welfare, marriage, family, and child counseling, child psychology, child development, counseling psychology, or social psychology.
  • In addition to the degree specified above, all of the following coursework and field practice or experience will be required:
  1. At least three semester units or 100 days of filed practice or experience in a public or private social service agency setting at the Master's Degree level.
  2. At least nine semester units of coursework related to children and families, or 18 months experience in working with children and families.
  3. At least three semester units in working with minority populations; six months of experience in working with minority populations; or six months in-service training in working with minority populations within the first year of employment as a condition of employment.
  4. At least three semester units in child welfare, or two years experience in a public or private child welfare social services setting.
  • Knowledgeable in psychology, sociology & acceptable social work practices; theories of behavior management & interventions; theories of child development; counseling techniques and methodologies.
  • Be of good character and reputation, professional, communicate effectively, and have the ability to follow agency policy & procedures.
  • Meet all state criminal record history and driving requirements.
  • First Aid / CPR certification.
  • Valid driver’s license, current insurance, and registration.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Health Screening & TB Test within 1 year of employment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide support services to Resource Parents and youth assigned to caseload. Caseloads range based on need and acuity. Duties include but are not limited to:  Independent living skills and social skills development, in-home support to Resource Parents, assistance in linking or maintaining youths to community services such as educational or occupational commitments or activities, and one-on-one supervision of foster youth if deemed necessary.
  • Provide counseling designed to minimize impulsive behavior & assist clients to engage in positive activities.
  • Provide interventions which redirect behaviors & prevent inappropriate behavioral responses, including cognitive behavioral interventions. 
  • Provide interventions which improve client social functioning, daily living and essential life skills; this may include preparing youth for independent living.
  • Transfer skills to caregivers to improve their ability to manage client behaviors & promote stability.
  • Provide transportation of children to and from monitored parental visits. Stay with the children at all times during the visit to assure parental compliance and avoidance of further trauma to the children through verbal abuse by the parents.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, child & family team meetings and agency specific case staffing.
  • Prepare required written documentation, including case notes, incident reports and agency forms.
  • Participate in agency training, unit/staff meetings, activities and events.


Support Counselor Position
Basic Information
Full-time / Part-time position serving Napa, Solano, Sonoma, Contra Costa, Alameda, Marin, San Francisco Counties.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in social science or related field & at lease six months of experience working with emotionally disturbed children; 
OR
  • Associate's Degree in social science or related field and has at least one year of experience working with emotionally disturbed children.
  • Knowledge of psychology, sociology & acceptable social work practices; theories of behavior management & interventions; theories of child development; counseling techniques and methodologies.
  • Be of good character and reputation, professional, communicate effectively, and able to follow agency policy & procedures.
  • Meet all state criminal record history and driving requirements.

  • Cell phone for communication.
  • Health Screening & TB Test within 1 year of employment.
